Harry Stuart Goodhart-Rendel (1887–1959) was an English architect and writer, also a musician. ==Life== He was educated at Eton College,〔(Alpine Eagle - Bill Borchert Larson )〕 and read music at Trinity College, Cambridge. He worked briefly for Sir Charles Nicholson, and then set up his own architectural practice. He is known for his church projects.〔http://www.abdiocese.org.uk/Resources/DABNet/English%20Heritage%20Reports%20Extracts/Cobham%20EH.pdf〕 He was Oxford's Slade Professor of Fine Art, from 1933 to 1936.〔(Exploring Surrey's Past - Harry Stuart Goodhart-Rendel )〕 His 1934 lectures on Victorian architecture were considered important, as part of the informed revival of interest in Victoriana, by Nikolaus Pevsner.〔Miles Taylor, Michael Wolff, ''The Victorians Since 1901: histories, representations and revisions'' (2004), p. 128.〕 He served as president of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) from 1937 to 1939. He was awarded the CBE in 1955.
